Covn is a fashion tech start-up and we strive to innovative at level of the fashion cycle to give you a perfect fit. One of the pillars of Covn is ethically manufacturing every dress. We partner with fellow WOC start-up Re(Source) to made all our dresses to the highest standard every step of the process. All dresses are made in Guangzhou, China. They are SMETA audited for Labour Standards, Health & Safety, Environment and Business Ethics applied to all workers and have the Oeko-Tex certification for labels, threads, yarns and other materials used in sewing.Why China? Simply put fashion is an international business and China has the best infrastructure and modern facilities to produce most of the world's garments. The misconception that 'made in China' means 'made in a sweatshop' is outdated and simply untrue. We work with family run sample rooms because they produce the best work. All fabric used in our dresses are sourced from a Fabric Mill in South Korea. Our current collection uses Cupro, which is made of unused cotton fibers that would otherwise be discarded in the cotton making process. It is plant based textile that undergoes a chemical process to create it’s silky texture. We partner with textile mills that have certifications in ISO, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Reach, BCI and the Higg Index.
